Congratulations to FC Phoenix under 11's 2010-2011 for winning the Ludlow Town Tournament on July 30th 2011. An enjoyable day all round with plenty of quality football played from all. During the group stage only one game from the other teams ended without a goal and the majority of the games ended with only a one goal winner.
The DJ's barmey army went out determined to get their hands on a trophy. They all deserved a pat on the back for the effort and for doing FC Phoenix proud. They played six games before the semi finals, winning five and ending with a draw against Ludlow Town who were to be the opponents in the final.
None of the matches finished without a battle and both the semi final and the final had FC Phoenix a goal down. I'm sure the boys like to conceed first just so they can hear the cheers and the relief on everybody when they pull it back. The semi final had some disagreements from the coaches and the spectators but that just showed the tension being experienced by all and the score didn't reflect on how well Bartestree played as a 3-1 win took FC  Phoenix into the final.
The day had taken its toll on the players and you could see that when they started the final as they walked they they're way into being one goal down to Ludlow Town. This was what they needed along with a shout, "get me that trophy!" to help them motivate themselves. It finished 2-1 to FC Phoenix and the celebrations were deserved as well
 as the very small trophy!
