FC PHOENIX U12’S v HEREFORD CITY SPORTS U12’s

Sunday 16th October 2011 Home Game KO 10.30am

RESULT 5-1

Another slow start for FC Phoenix regarding goals. Not slow to attack by far, straight from the starting whistle FC Phoenix were in City Sports side of the pitch. It was a little frustrating though because the attempts at goal were endless. The passing of the ball between the midfield players was quite encouraging to watch, yet the final third consisted of shots wide of the goal.

What had to be done?

Players are consistently changed around and so they should be because it is a very strong squad of players and in their own right they all deserve their time on the pitch. The defence; Powler, Brad and Azzo as well as the keeper Meds had very little do but when a ball came through it was simply given back to the midfield. It was obvious that a change of formation was on the cards.

Eventually, goals came flowing and after the first goal Hereford City Sports bowed under the pressure. One goal each came from Jaytee, Jimmy and Gouphy and Troyster with two taking him to the top of the scorer board.

Dean changed the formation around and swapped a defender for an attacker which was much to the disagreeing of Dan. This then proved to be the wrong thing to do; pressure from a counter attack gave City Sports one shot at goal and with a great strike it was in the net. A quick couple of changes were made again to ensure no further goals were conceded but all in all, a brill performance!
